Director General of the National Development Agency, Samuel Marcal, officially opens the PNDS National Coordination Meeting
The Technical Secretariat for the National Village Development Program (ST-PNDS) held a national coordination meeting for the month of June at Hotel Arbiru in Dili (25/06/2015).
This coordination meeting was officially opened by the Director General of the National Development Agency (ADN) Samuel Marcal. As per normal, this coordination meeting took place to improve the coordination of work between the staff who are implementing the National Village Development Program at the grass roots level. The Director General of ADN, Samuel Marcal, who was participating in this meeting for the first time, said that “based on my field visit the National Village Development Program (PNDS) is a very positive program because it corresponds directly with the needs of the communities at the grass roots level”.
“PNDS is a small project, but it is directly linked to the community”, Samuel Marcal, Director General of the National Development Agency.
This meeting is a monthly activity whereby each department presents its success and the challenges that were encountered during the previous month, and these activities can further improve the quality of the work carried out by all PNDS staff.
PNDS is not a project, but rather PNDS is a community program that hands over full responsibility to the community to identify development problems in the village, to plan, implement, and manage their own funds and also to provide maintenance for projects that have been built and completed through this program.
