The PNDS Social Technical Team from Dili Municipality conducted Module F training for members of Village Management Teams (EJS) about women’s involvement in implementing the National Village Development Program (PNDS) in Becora-Dili (02/07/2015).
The participants were happy with this training because it can increase their skill in different areas.
“This training really helps us, because it can increase our knowledge about how women can become community leaders, make decisions and can manage programs in the village”, said Dominggas Laura Belo Soares, EIP Head from Bidau Lecidere Village, Dili Administrative Post
This training was also attended by the Director of the PNDS Delegation in Dili Municipality, Mr. Tadeu Francisco de A. Soares, who mentioned in his speech that this training is really important for the Village Management Team (EJS) especially in relation to how to develop the capacity and involvement of women so that they can be leaders in the community, can make decisions and also can manage PNDS programs in villages.
This training on Module F continues training provided on Module B which focuses on the capacity building of women who assume positions as managers in villages, such as being members of the EJS and also female facilitators at the village level. The EJS is comprised of the Accountability Planning Commission (KPA), the Community Implementation Team (EIP) and the Operations and Maintenance Team (EOM).
The material presented in this training focuses on how to increase the skill of women to work as part of a team or group and how women can be courageous in voicing their opinions about the types of development that communities want to implement in their villages.
This training was attended by members of the Village Management Team, with more than 40 people from 20 villages from 3 Administrative Posts, namely Vera Cruz, Nain Feto and Cristo Rei, Dili Municipality.
Also, the same training was provided in Dom Aleixo Administrative Post on 22 June 2015 and was attended by 19 participants from Village Management Teams from the 4 of Comoro, Fatuhada, Kampung Alor and Bairo Pite.
