Vice Minister, Tomas Cabral was accompanied by coo – Chef Miguel and Liquica Municipal Administrator officially inauguration clean water project
PNDS projects in the Maubara Administrative Post, Liquica Municipality. The inauguration of the PNDS projects took place in Maubara-Lissa Village.
Prior to the inauguration ceremony the Village Chief and the community members invited the Vice Minister and his team to take a closer look at the results of the clean water facility that had been constructed, which built by the community in Maubara-Lissa Village through the PNDS Program.
“Look after this water properly, and in addition to consuming the water, channel it onto your land so you can plant crops and water your plants so that you can make the land fertile”, said the Vice-Minister for State Administration, Tomás do Rosário Cabral, in Maubara-Lissa Village, Maubara Administrative Post.
The community leaders and local authorities appreciated the visit of the Vice Minister to inaugurate these projects because their visit can provide further motivation to the communities to participate and be engaged in the development process, especially the PNDS Program.
The community leaders were happy because the people are obtaining benefits from the PNDS Program.
“In the past during the dry season the communities found it really hard to obtain water, but now with the PNDS program we can pump water to the community”, said Rui Manuel, Vaviquinia Village Chief.
The Vaviquinia Village Chief, Rui Manuel, in his speech expressed his appreciation for the PNDS program, because this program has empowered the community to manage the project by themselves, starting with the identification of development problems, planning, the management of funds, program implementation, and also oversight.
The Maubara Administrative Post has 7 villages, and the total amount of PNDS village subsidies allocated to this Administrative Post was $313,750, which includes operational funds and infrastructure funds.
The inauguration ceremony was co-chaired by Miguel P. de Carvalho, Aderito Guterres, PNDS Director of Finance Administration Management, the Liquica Municipality Administrator, Domingos da C. dos Santos, and local authorities and community leaders from the Maubara Administrative Post.
